Marie Stopes Timor-Leste (MSTL), a member of the Marie Stopes International (MSI) global partnership is a non-profit, non-government organization (NGO) specializing in supporting and delivering high quality family planning and sexual and reproductive health services (SRH). We have been working in Timor-Leste since 2007 to support the Ministry of Health (MoH) implement national reproductive health strategies and achieve national maternal health goals. Our guiding principles are to support the MoH to deliver a broad range of high-quality family planning and SRH services, ensure excellence in clinical quality, and support the delivery of services that are client-focused and promote choice.
MSTL seeks for a Timorese National for the position of Clinical Trainer to be based in Dili.
The Clinical Trainer is responsible for the training of SRH, safe motherhood services and general health training deliver to and by MSTL providers and staffs using TOT models and MSI standard. Clinical trainer is also responsible for coaching and mentoring providers either during training, OJT and CSS.
Clinical Trainer is working closely with Master Trainer to identify training based on needs and planning and delivering of the clinical training and program staff. Clinical Trainer is expected on-going clinical training and monitoring to the doctors/midwifes/nurses to maintain MSI clinical standard.
Key Requirements of the Position:
Qualifications: |
- Doctors, Nurses and Midwife with a valid professional card and ability to provide services in Timor
- Certificate of competency in family planning from MoH, including ability to provide implants, IUDs and counselling on all modern methods of contraception
Experience: |
- Minimum 2 – 5 years’ work experience as MSTL provider
- Minimum 1 - 2 years’ work experience as Clinical Trainer
- Minimum 1 -2 years’ work experience in managing a team
- Experience in budget and cash management
Skills: |
- Ability to provide modern contraceptive methods including IUD and Implant
- Ability to communicate complex and sensitive concepts to various types of audiences
- Ability to discuss sensitive topics with clients in a confidential and caring manner
- Ability to work without supervision
- Ability to priorities and manage workload
- Ability to use common computer programs (MS Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Ability to be flexible and support the needs of the team as required
- English language skills desired
Requirements of Role:
- Light physical activity such as bending over, lifting items, exposure to cleaning materials and/or chemicals
- Have sufficient understanding of English and be able to read and interpret MSTL guidelines and policies
