The Rai Matak program is a long-term community reforestation and agroforestry initiative that brings together smallholder subsistence farmers in Timor-Leste. The program, spanning 50 years (2020-2070), focuses on reforestation, agroforestry, and income generation through carbon credits, improving land productivity and ecosystem resilience. It involves multiple community-based partners and aims to support 20,000 farming families, with a target of 10 million trees planted and 25M tCO2 removed.

Foundation Rai Matak will appoint the right person to be its Partnership and Quality Manager

Selection Criteria will be based on:

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in project management, International Development, Business Administration, or a related field. A Master’s degree is an advantage.

Experience:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in program management, partnership coordination, or capacity building, within the development or environmental sectors.
  • Experience working with community-based organisations and managing relationships with local partners.
  • Knowledge of organisational development, compliance, and quality assurance processes in development programs.
  • Experience in forestry, agroforestry, or carbon farming programs is highly desirable

Skills:

  • Strong project management skills, including the ability to coordinate multiple stakeholders and workstreams.
  • Demonstrated ability to assess organizational capacity and develop improvement plans.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with partners and colleagues.
  • Strong organisational and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail and an ability to prioritize tasks.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and relevant project management tools.
  • Fluency in English and Tetum is required; knowledge of Portuguese or Indonesian is an asset.
