VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENT
(for Recruitment, PSC Duties, and Performance Reviews)
PSC Position Title: General Services Assistant/Driver (GSA/D)
Hours (40 or 48): 40 hours
Reports To: General Services Manager (GSM)
Coordinates with: Entire Programming and Training (P&T) Team; other Peace Corps departments (Admin, Safety & Security and Medical)
Supervises Others: N/A

Minimum Requirements:
At a minimum, the successful candidate’s CV should demonstrate the following:
  • Education/Certification: High School or Vocational School Diploma
  • Years of Experience: Good working record, valid driver’s license required (for type of vehicle operated), & 3 years relevant work experience.
  • Language Proficiency: English at the Low Intermediate level or above.
  • Experience working in a cross-cultural environment.
  • Knowledge of MS Office computer applications (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Knowledge: Familiarity with local traffic laws and regulations; familiarity with roads in country.
  • Skills: Basic auto repair; ability to make sound decisions on weather and road conditions for countryside travel to ensure the safety of passengers.
  • Must be available to respond to emergency situations, including emergency travel, at any time.
  • Must be able to perform moderate physical labor.
  • Confidence to enforce and abide by policies and regulations.
  • Ability to pass driver medical exam determining fitness for duty as required by Peace Corps and US Mission.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Prior experience in managing fleet operations
  • Experience in monitoring facility operations
  • Certified maintenance skills for office, vehicles, and/or residential equipment/facilities
  • Proficient in computer use and inventory management applications

Salary
Full performance level starting at $7,320.00 USD annually plus benefits (dependent on salary history, experience, and qualifications).

Security Clearance
Candidate must be able to obtain a security clearance which requires a National ID Card and recent/valid Ministry of Justice Requerimento de Certificado de Registo Criminal. Candidates without these documents may apply, but they should start working on obtaining these documents immediately. Candidates will also require a valid passport and must not have any restrictions on travel to the United States from previous experience.
