Tourism Planning Adviser

The Partnership for Inclusive Prosperity / Parseria ba Prosperidade Inklusivu (PROSIVU) Program is seeking a Tourism Planning Adviser is to support the Ministry of Tourism with developing their planning and priority-setting capabilities, to ensure coordinated efforts from all stakeholders through the steps of building the tourism sector and strengthening the supply side of tourism development, with regard to management of key national tourism sites and assets, with a focus on those identified in the National Tourism Strategic Plan.

 

PROSIVU is an Australian Government program supported by DT Global. PROSIVU is the next phase of Australia’s governance support to Timor-Leste. The program will extend Australia’s longstanding partnership with Timor-Leste in support of good governance and economic policy development. It is Australia’s primary program for providing support to Timor-Leste’s central government agencies and economic line-ministries.

This is an international Long-Term Adviser position. The Tourism Planning Adviser will have the following qualifications, experience, and skills:

 

• A minimum of 8 years of experience in tourism planning, destination management or the related field.
• Experience of successfully developing and implementing tourism development plans and strategies within similar government and country contexts.
• Having worked in/or understood tourism challenges in Timor-Leste or a similar context.
• The ability to use Geographic Information Systems (GIS) software for special analysis and mapping.
