The “Strengthening social inclusion and nutrition in Timor-Leste” project, funded by the European Union, contributes to achieve the priorities of the Government of Timor-Leste to foster sustainable development and enhance social inclusion, well-being, and dignity within Timorese society. Implemented jointly by the ILO, UNICEF, and the WFP, this EU initiative aims to reduce poverty by extending contributory social security to the most vulnerable workers, particularly those in the informal economy.
The project will facilitate access to information and registration processes for those specific informal worker groups within the contributory social security framework. To bolster these effects, extensive training and capacity-building programmes will be conducted at both national and municipality levels. These initiatives are designed to strengthen capabilities, enabling more efficient and effective engagement, mobilization, and delivery of services and benefits.
