Job Description:

Social Media Management:

Social Media Content Creation & Management

  • Develop, schedule, and publish engaging content (text, images, videos, infographics) across social media platforms.
  • Monitor, respond, and engage with audiences to foster a strong online community.
  • Stay updated on social media trends and best practices to optimize content strategy.
  • Ensure all content aligns with WVTL’s branding and donor guidelines.

Social Media Strategy & Growth

  • Implement strategies to grow WVTL’s social media following and increase engagement.
  • Monitor key performance metrics and provide data-driven insights for improvement.
  • Collaborate with teams to align social media efforts with organizational goals and campaigns.

Digital Campaigns & Event Promotion

  • Support digital campaigns, advocacy efforts, and fundraising initiatives.
  • Provide live coverage for events, workshops, and field activities.
  • Coordinate with internal teams to promote key messages and success stories.

Reporting & Analytics

  • Track and analyze social media performance using analytics tools.
  • Prepare monthly reports with insights and recommendations for improvement.
  • Identify opportunities for engagement and content optimization.

Internal Communication support

  • Support organization-wide communication and visibility efforts, ensuring brand and donor alignment.
  • Document WVTL’s activities and impact stories through photos and videos for various audiences.
  • Produce high-quality multimedia content to engage diverse stakeholders.
  • Stay updated on digital trends to enhance storytelling and engagement strategies.
  • Assist with media and donor visits while training field staff in content creation.
  • Ensure all content meets safeguarding standards and maintains brand consistency.

Other Responsibilities

  • Participate in designing communication plans and initiatives, and support staff training and capacity-building in communications.
  • Assist in planning and coordinating public events and liaise with external service providers and media/press as needed.

Emergency Response Communications 

  • Capture high-quality and compelling communications contents during emergencies.
  • Provide communications support to the Emergency Response teams and leadership.

Required Professional Experience

  • At least 2 years of relevant professional experience in digital content creation, graphic design, communications and visibility.

Required Education, training, license, registration, and certification

  • Bachelor’s degree in communications, Marketing, Journalism, Digital Media, or related field.

Preferred Knowledge and Qualifications

Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in communications, Marketing, Journalism, Digital Media, or related field.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in digital content creation, internal communications, or media engagement.
  • Proven experience managing social media platforms and creating digital content
  • Knowledge of SEO, CMS (WordPress or similar), and social media analytics.
  • Experience in content writing, photography, and video editing preferred.
  • Experience in media relations, event coordination, and working with NGOs or donor-funded projects is a plus.
  • Previous experience in the humanitarian sector is an advantage.

Skills

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in Tetum and working knowledge of English.
  • Proficiency in graphic design tools (e.g. Canva, Adobe Creative Suite) and content management systems (e.g., WordPress).
  • Strong photography, videography, and graphic/photo editing skills.
  • Knowledge of SEO, CMS (WordPress or similar), and social media analytics.
  • Creative thinking, problem-solving, and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work under pressure, meet tight deadlines, and achieve results in a multicultural context.
  • Strong collaborative, planning, and organizational skills.
