Role Overview

The National Project Manager will oversee the daily implementation and monitoring of UNDP’s Social Cohesion Project. This project aims to empower excluded groups—specifically youth and women—while strengthening the trust between local communities and government institutions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Project Leadership: Plan timelines, manage budgets, and ensure all activities meet the high-quality standards set by UNDP.
  • Technical Design: Draft concept notes and Terms of Reference (ToRs) for project activities.
  • Monitoring & Evaluation: Develop frameworks to track progress and conduct field visits to ensure real-world impact.
  • Partnership Management: Build and maintain strategic relationships with national justice and security institutions, the g7+, and civil society organizations.
  • Strategic Reporting: Coordinate work plans and periodic narrative/expenditure reports for UNDP and development partners.

Required Qualifications & Skills
  • Education: * Master’s Degree with 7 years of relevant experience, OR

    • Bachelor’s Degree with 9 years of relevant experience.
    • Fields: Law, Human Rights, Political Science, International/Development Studies, or related areas.
  • Languages: Fluency in English and Tetun is required. Proficiency in Portuguese is highly desirable.
