The Program

The Australia Timor-Leste Partnership for Human Development (PHD) supports the Government of Timor-Leste’s Strategic Development Plan 2011-2030 and reflects Australia’s commitment to work in partnership with Timor-Leste to invest in improved wellbeing for Timor-Leste’s people. PHD aims to deliver lasting impact on the program goal: ‘people in Timor-Leste are healthier, better-educated and better able to contribute to Timor-Leste’s development’. Through PHD, Australia supports the Timor-Leste government to deliver higher quality and inclusive services in primary health, basic education and social protection.

Abt Associates Australia is the implementation partner for PHD, contracted since May 2016, that will continue to May 2026.

 

The Opportunity

We are seeking a long-term Coordinator - Nutrition to join our Health and Nutrition Sector team to contribute to the planning, implementation, monitoring and reporting of the relevant nutrition activities based on the PHD guiding strategy and annual work plans.

 

The Coordinator – Nutrition will support the implementation of nutrition specific activities through Ministry of Health (MoH), nutrition mainstreaming opportunities with PHD sector programs, and multi-sector nutrition governance support for the SDG2 Consolidated National Action Plan for Nutrition and Food Security (SDG2 CNAP-NFS) and other Scaling Up Nutrition (SUN) related activities through the Office of the Prime Minister (PMO). 

 

The Coordinator – Nutrition will work under the supervision of Sector Lead - Health and with support from the Advisor – Nutrition.

 

About You

We are seeking an individual who will bring:

  • Technical knowledge of public health and nutrition
  • Ability to manage multi-sector coordination and collaboration
  • Ability to work collaboratively with a range of stakeholders, and experience providing support to a senior manager
  • Demonstrated organisational and time management skills
  • Fluency in English and Tetun-Prasa essential, with demonstrated strong written and verbal communication skills
