The Australian Embassy is seeking a highly motivated and experienced person to fill the long-term position of Senior Program Officer – Partnership for Infrastructure (locally-engaged staff, level 6), working in the Governance and Economic Development Team. This is a busy role and the successful candidate must be able to demonstrate achievement against the following selection criteria:
- At least five years’ experience working in one or more infrastructure and/or economic development sectors in Timor-Leste.
- Demonstrated knowledge of governance and infrastructure issues in Timor-Leste.
- Demonstrated capacity to work independently with sound judgment.
- Demonstrated ability to work in a team, and contribute to enhancing team capacity through collaboration, and where required, coaching/mentoring junior colleagues.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively and professionally with a range of stakeholders
Applicants should also have the following qualifications and/or experience.
- Tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline, such as economics/economic development public administration, business management, engineering/infrastructure management, urban planning, environmental management or similar. Additional postgraduate specialisation would be an advantage.
- Highly developed verbal and written English skills.
- Strong computer literacy and proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
The salary for this position is start from US$25,201.
