Swipe Safe Project Coordinator - ChildFund Timor-Leste

Reports to: Head of Programs 

Other Information: a working with Children Check and a Criminal History Check are required to be undertaken for this position

 

PURPOSE OF THE POSITION

The project coordinator is responsible for the planning and implementation, monitoring and evaluation and Learning (MEL) of the Swipe Safe Project in Timor Leste. The Project coordinator will support the contextualization of the Swipe Safe online safety curriculum as well as identify and support local partners in delivering high-quality online safety training to young people, parents, frontline child protection workers and law enforcement personnel. The project coordinator ensures strong collaboration with the relevant line ministries, adequate program visibility, and alignment with ChildFund Australia Child Protection sector and Child safeguarding procedures.

 

KEY DUTIES

  • coordinate the implementation of ChildFund Swipe Safe project activities according to the implementation plan and budget, with particular focus on curriculum contextualization, training of trainers activities, workshops and communication events
  • Ensure monthly/quarterly project progress reports and data collection and update information on Salesforce.
  • Support in the identification of partners in the implementation of the SwipeSafe curriculum and provide technical support to partners.
  • Monitor the implementation of project activities and ensure quality of project delivery through coaching and mentoring
  • Maintain good working relationship with stakeholders such as relevant line ministries incl MSSI, SSYS, MoEST, youth organisations, other like-minded organisations and child protection and youth related technical working groups at national and municipality level.
  • Support advocacy work at national level relating to online child protection
  • Strengthen local partnerships and/or relationships, e.g., through capacity sharing to support localisation
  • Act as a focal point in the organisation (to be selected based on experience and interest) i.e., with regards to Child Safeguarding or Gender Equality, Disability Inclusion

 

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

  • University qualification in relevant field
  • At least 2-year experience in projects coordination of similar projects; preferably in child protection, gender based violence or youth sectors.
  • Ability to effectively manage and control project plan, and maintain strong monitoring, evaluation and learning approaches
  • Experience in providing training of trainers and facilitation of training for young people
  • Interest in social media use and engaging young people and youth organisations
