Project Information : ADRA Timor Leste’s Increased Community Action for Climate Resilience and Adaptation (ICARVE) program aims to increase Community Resilience and Adaptation to Climate Shocks by utilizing natural based solutions in improving community-based climate adaptation. Project will implement in six communities in Viqueque municipality.
Position Purpose: Collaborate with the ICARVE Field Facilitator and entities and community leaders to raise community awareness about climate change and water conservation and assist in rain water harvesting construction.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure effective coordination with local authorities in targeted sucos.
- Organize and lead community outreach activities related to the project.
- Assist with GIS mapping survey and monitoring.
- Design and lead the construction of rainwater collection systems in target areas.
- Monitor and report challenges, providing information for adjusting plans and implementation schedules.
- Support the Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) team in collecting relevant data as required by the project.
Education, Experience, and Competency Requirements
- Completed secondary school or diploma in Engineering.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in water installation and rainwater collection systems.
- Preferred experience in climate change development work.
- Strong technical knowledge and skills in drought resilience preparation.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build effective working relationships.
- Self-motivated and able to work well in a team.
- Flexible, creative, and capable of working effectively in challenging environments.
- Proficiency in computer skills, particularly Microsoft Excel and Word.
- Ability to drive and hold a valid driver’s license (SIM).
