Position Purpose:
The Component Manager is responsible for supporting the Project Manager with overall management and leadership of the ICARVE project. The Component Manager will manage the implementation of activities by directing staff.
- Support the Project Manager and the Field Facilitators to ensure the following is implemented with high standard quality:
- Selection and validation of beneficiaries.
- Development of the Detailed Project Implementation Plan (DIP) as per donor guidelines.
- Activity Implementation according to DIP.
- Crosscutting issues such as Gender, Disability and Social Inclusion, Safeguarding, and environment are considered throughout project cycle management.
- Lead weekly planning/review meetings with staff.
- Coordinate closely with the municipal stakeholders.
- Maintain regular coordination and communication with Project Manager.
- Supervise Field Facilitators and Water Technician.
- Foster a friendly, positive and appreciate culture among the team members.
- Ensure the Employee Handbook is available to all team members and that policies and procedures as well as code of conduct are followed.
- Mediate personnel issues and foster a learning culture.
- Ensure personnel capacity development throughout the project duration.
- Ensure that the Field Facilitators submit the report with good analysis and impact stories.
- Submit the monthly progress reports to Project Manager in a timely manner.
- Ensure that the feedback and complaints from the community are collected.
- Ensure complete procurement and financial procedures are followed.
- Ensure vehicle trip schedules are prepared and maintenance schedules followed.
- Maintain regular communication with Finance Director regarding financial questions or guidelines.
- Bachelor's degree in Agriculture, Environmental Studies, or Forestry.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in climate change development work.
- Strong technical knowledge and skills in drought resilience preparation.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build effective working relationships.
- Self-motivated and able to work well in a team.
- Flexible, creative, and capable of working effectively in challenging environments.
- Proficiency in computer skills, particularly Microsoft Excel and Word.
- Ability to drive and hold a valid driver’s license (SIM).
