About Women and Youth Creating Our Future (WYCF)

The Women and Youth Creating Our Future (WYCF) is a 5-year employment and entrepreneurship program funded by the US Government in Timor-Leste. Its goal is to support the Institute of Business (IOB) in launching a center for entrepreneurship and employment called SENTRU to strengthen the workforce readiness and technical and entrepreneurship skills of Timorese youth (including out-of-schools) and adult women.

 

Position summary and scope:

The Manager Business Incubator Center will report to the Chief of the Party (COP) and coordinate her/his activities with the SENTRU Director, Deputy Director, Skills Development Specialist, and Investment Manager.

This position is managing the SENTRU DEZENVOLVIMENTU FOINSAE business incubation center regarding, Business training, Pitching Business Ideas, Business Workshop, and assisting business start-ups and existing businesses persons to access financial institutions, angel investment, and Venture Capital to develop start-up businesses.


Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

Business Incubation Program

  1. Helping entrepreneurs refine their ideas and create business plans and development strategies.
  2. Conduct research to identify funding and sources of support for entrepreneurs.
  3. Develop tools and systems to support entrepreneurs at every stage of their development.
  4. Help entrepreneurs find potential partners and customers.
  5. Facilitate and manage communication between entrepreneurs and their business partners.
  6. Supporting the training and education of entrepreneurs.
  7. Identify and exploit partnership and growth opportunities for businesses.
  8. Monitoring and supporting companies throughout their development cycle.

 

Loan Program

  1. Review loan applications and assess creditworthiness
  2. Communicate with customers to gather additional information and documentation
  3. Maintain accurate records of all loan applications and approvals
  4. Provide guidance and support to customers throughout the loan process
  5. Meet regularly with management to discuss loan performance and identify areas for improvement
  6. Work collaboratively with other departments to ensure high-quality loan servicing and customer support
  7. Stay up to date on industry regulations and trends in order to provide the best possible service to customers

 

Key Competencies Required:

  1. Bachelor or Master degree in relevant discipline (Business, Administration, Finance, etc.) 
  2. At least 3 years of experience working related to the field of ICT, food processing, tourism, light industry or other relevant industry.
  3. Demonstrated skills and understanding of private sector development and access to finance.
  4. Experience with women’s and youth programs.
  5. Ability to work under pressure and meet hard deadlines. 
  6. Experience managing several activities at a time. 
  7. Experience working with multidisciplinary teams with a focus on social inclusion. 
  8. Experience reporting to multiple lines.
  9. Creativity, agility and team spirit.
  10. Excellent communication skills.
  11. Fluent in verbal and written English, Tetum and Indonesia.
