  • Internship opportunities for three months.
  • In Timor-Leste, interns will support MDF’s efforts to promote economic development, particularly through fieldwork in the agriculture sector.
  • MDF Internships offer a chance to learn on-the-job skills while also contributing to actual projects. Interns receive a monthly stipend. 

About MDF  

The Market Development Facility (MDF) is a multi-country initiative which promotes sustainable economic development, through higher incomes for women and men, in our partner countries across the Indo-Pacific.

We support partners from business and government to identify and grow commercial opportunities that are profitable, scalable and deliver social and of environmental value.

MDF is funded by the Australian Department of Foreign Affairs (DFAT) and co-funded by the New Zealand Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade (MFAT) in Samoa, Tonga and Vanuatu. It is implemented by Palladium in partnership with Swisscontact.

About the Opportunity

The Operations Intern supports MDF’s Operations unit in administration and procurement while gaining practical knowledge in operations management and contributing to various operational projects.

The Communication Intern supports MDF’s communication activities, partnership implementation and media engagement.

The M&E Intern support MDF’s RIMI team particularly through supporting monitoring and evaluation activities in agriculture and tourism sectors.

 

About you

MDF is looking for enthusiastic university graduates with a desire to learn and a keen interest in development in Timor-Leste. In addition, successful interns will have:


  1. A bachelor’s degree in communication, finance, administration, business, economic development, or other related field.
  2. Graduated within the last two years, with a minimum Grade Point average of 3.0
  3. Good skills in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel and PowerPoint).
  4. Excellent written and spoken Tetun language skills.
  5. Willingness to travel regularly and extensively within Timor-Leste.

Desirable Criteria

  1. Experience with fieldwork, research and data collection.
  2. Good written and spoken English language skills.
