About the Department
The Enabling Services Department is responsible for the development of corporate policy and the delivery of professional services and advice to CARE Australia in relation to governance, compliance, human resources, financial management, business support, and information technology. The Department plays a pivotal role in organisational change by collaborating with business units to plan and enable the delivery of desired organisational outcomes and the meeting of/or exceeding of agreed service delivery expectations.

The Finance Branch covers Australian and international financial management functions, including:
- core financial operational functions including payroll, budgeting, reporting, accounts payable, and receivable
- financial analysis, financial strategy, and policy development, and advice
- project budgeting and acquittal support for the International Programs and Operations department and some quality assurance and advice for Country Offices
- support and capacity building for Country Offices
- FMIS management
- compliance and governance support including audit, compliance with codes and standards, and regulatory registrations and reporting.
About the Role
The role supports the financial management information system for both CARE Australia and 7 Country Offices under CARE Australia, which is the foundation for all financial management, planning, and reporting in CARE Australia and the Country Offices it supports. A key part of this is focusing on project financial management, especially budgeting and reporting, so all financial information is held in a single system and that Country Offices are supported effectively to achieve CARE’s mission and impact. The Regional Financial Systems Support Coordinator works with CARE Australia departments and Country Offices to ensure smooth FMIS operations and that project budgeting and accounting requirements are met.
The role supports the financial management information system for both CARE Australia and 7 Country Offices under CARE Australia, which is the foundation for all financial management, planning, and reporting in CARE Australia and the Country Offices it supports. The Regional Financial Systems Support Coordinator works with CARE Australia departments and Country Offices to ensure smooth FMIS operations and that project budgeting and accounting requirements are met.
The role works closely with Regional Program Support Advisor and Project Accounting Advisor to ensure that CARE Australia and Country Offices have accurate and complete financial information on project budgets, expenditure, and revenue. The position reports to Regional Program Support Advisor only and is based in Country Office.

Key Responsibilities
- SunSystems Administration including assisting SunSystems upgrades, Supporting SunSystems Users, SunTip updating and training;
- Support internal and external audit and compliance;
- Closeout of project financial information timely and accurately in FMIS;
- Support on project accounting and budget support as required;
- Work with CARE’s program and country office staff to review project-related financial information;
- Supports program teams and country offices on financial awareness and processes and supports capacity building of staff in finance, procurement, logistics, and administration functions;
- Demonstrated strong ability to respond effectively to challenges, and to work effectively in a small, diverse, and busy team environment and with cross-functional teams remotely.
- Demonstrated relevant experience in SunSystems, Excel and Google Sheet, and video communication tools for remote work and learning (Google Meet and Zoom).
- Demonstrated client service ethic and the ability to respond effectively to client queries in a timely manner.
- Understanding of budget & report processes and experience in project financial management;
- Demonstrated strong ability to communicate effectively with a wide range of individuals with coaching and mentoring skills;
- Demonstrated initiative, attention to detail, and proven high-level organisational and time management skills including the ability to manage workflows and balance competing priorities to ensure that deadlines are met with a “can-do” attitude.
- An understanding of the importance of empowering women and girls and a commitment to the protection of children and the prevention of sexual harassment, exploitation, and abuse.
