Job Vacancy:     Human Resources Manager

 

Since 1992, The Asia Foundation has partnered with government, civil society and private sector partners to develop Timor-Leste and its people. We are working with local, district and national level government, civil society partners and communities to strengthen governance and policy, eliminate violence against women, enhance economic opportunities for women, and promote peace and justice in Timor-Leste.

 

This is an exciting opportunity to join a long-term partner to Timor-Leste’s ongoing development. Alongside senior management you will have a voice in forging internal and external relationships assuring that Human Resources is a catalyst for change, positive affirmation and the chance to help others forge their own career pathways.

 

Key responsibilities

·       Implement the employment lifecycle: recruitment, onboarding, development, retention, and separation;

·       Adhere to Timor-Leste labor law; keep the Foundation compliant with HR-related laws and regulations;

·       Initiate and participate in the development of adequate and compliant policies related to HR matters;

·       Commence, register and address grievance and disciplinary issues;

·       Entry permit and visa applications for international staff and visitors;

·       Run/supervise HR team;

·       Provide leadership and management.

 

Selection Criteria

·       Degree in Human Resources, Business or Project Management;

·       Five years of experience in HR;

·       Proven track record in HR policies;

·       Self-starter and interpersonal and cultural skills;

·       Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English;

·       Familiarity with Timor-Leste Labor Law;

·       Excellent computer skills, and ability and confidence to work on new apps and systems.
