Introduction

Associação Maluk Timor is a non-governmental organization (NGO) committed to capacity building and health system strengthening in Timor-Leste, through the mentoring and professional development of Timorese health personnel.


The WHSC Program's intended impact is to promote an egalitarian society through empowerment and improved health of Timorese women and girls, especially those in rural Timor-Leste.

 

Key activities include

I.  Support PSFs (Promotors Saude Familiar) in Atauro

II.  Community Engagement

III.  Upskill and support CBAs (Community Birth Attendants) in rural TL

Position Summary

This position is responsible for the overall planning and implementation of the Women’s Health Club component of the Women’s Health and Social Care Program.

 
Key Functions

 

This position is responsible for the overall planning and implementation of the Women’s Health Club component of the Women’s Health and Social Care Program, which include responsibilities for:

  • Ensure the Women’s Health Club component is implemented within the duration, scope, and budget of the approved proposal.
  • Coordinate and plan the implementation of monthly Women’s Health Club meetings; including the development of monthly travel plan, identification of Culturally plus Timor Leste appropriate information to build knowledge of PSFs Local.
  • Liaison with DHS and stakeholders in the target areas
  • Help Program Manager and Midwives in the design planning and delivery of a twice-yearly upskilling training for mainland CBA/PSF that Maluk Timor supports.
  • Maintenance of the M&E framework related to the Women’s Health Club component.
  • Assist Program Manager in writing quarterly reports according to donor guidelines.
  • Other tasks as assigned by supervisor (management)

Selection Criteria: Qualifications and Experience

Essential:

  • Basic degree in social work, public health, or relevant area 
  • At least 2 years work experience


Desirable:

  • Advanced qualification in relevant field
  • Experience in the health sector
  • Experience in NGO sector
  • Competency in English
