Introduction
Associação Maluk Timor is a non-governmental organization (NGO) committed to capacity building and health system strengthening in Timor-Leste, through the mentoring and professional development of Timorese health personnel.
The Maluk Timor TB Program's intended impact is to contribute to the reduction of TB in Timor-Leste, in line with the End TB Strategy, through intensified case finding in high-risk populations, education, and infection control.
 
Key activities include:
  1. Household Contact Tracing
  2. Cough Triage
  3. Strengthening referral feedback mechanism at the national hospital and 5 referral hospital
  4. TB Education and counselling
  5. Peer counselling and household contact tracing for MDR-TB

Position Summary
Health Care Workers in the TB Program will work closely with Program Partners to conduct activities that assist patients with TB and raise awareness in the community.
 
Key Functions
  • Screening (Community Level including CHCs)
  • Provides treatment to patients according to Guidelines
  • Contacts patient regularly for follow-up
  • Relays appropriate information to parents or relatives of the patient.
  • Provides support to the family/ies and patient regarding screening & treatment for TB-related illnesses
  • Maintains patients records and referrals for screening.
  • Accountability for accurate data entry and data cleaning
  • Accountability for timely implementation of contact tracing activities in Aileu
 
Selection Criteria: Qualifications and Experience
Essential:
  • Public Health Certificate Degree
  • Minimum 1 year experience in TB or health secto
 
Qualifications
Desirable:
  • Demonstrated knowledge of screening & treatment of TB and related illnesses.
  • Demonstrated entry-level computer skills including Microsoft Windows & Office
  • Demonstrated skills in data collection and entry
  • Good working knowledge of spoken and written English
  • Holds a current motorbike license
