We use the latest software development approaches and are pushing into innovative ways to apply tech, such as AI. Overview of Role

We are looking for an exceptional IT Manager who is motivated to lead a team of IT professionals in everything from cloud/local server deployments, IT networking, and hardware delivery, to create an engineering link to our cloud platform, One. This role will also support the growth of our IT services in which we offer world-class IT support for an ever expanding customer base. The IT manager will not only have the technical background to deliver on our promise of excellence to our clients, but also maintain the executive maturity required to drive this segment of our business. 

Description

The IT Manager will:

  • Lead Similie’s Local IT Team and report to the CTO and Product Manager.
  • Manage the IT Team’s work schedule, budgets, HR, and coordinate these activities with other Teams.
  • Represent Similie to clients, including the delivery of product demos.
  • Understand customer’s specific business needs and apply product knowledge to meet those needs. 
  • Ensure quality of service by developing a detailed knowledge of technical specifications and service levels to meet client expectations.
  • Lead the Tech Team’s contributions to IT consultancies and assessments.
  • Work in an interdisciplinary environment with daily engagement with the IoT, Product and Dev, Project Management Teams, Business Development, and Senior Management at Similie.
  • Train, guide and mentor employees and make sure that they promote Similie culture and values.
  • Deliver technical requirements specifications for IT related projects.

The successful candidate must be able to demonstrate    
  • An ability to solve problems creatively and independently, and to work collaboratively with others.
  • Strong supervisory and leadership skills.
  • An understanding of the tech development process, including Quality Assurance.  
  • Advanced communication skills in all forms especially for the communication of advanced technical concepts. An ability to create mock-ups and prototypes is an advantage.
  • A deep understanding of current technologies and industry best practice.
  • An ability to drive the development of product features from design to implementation. 
  • Experience in performing IT assessments or gap analyses and to report the results.
  • Experience in performing IT assessments or gap analyses and to report the results.
  • An ability to work in a multi-disciplinary team and to coordinate with project management tools.
  • Experience in customer relationship management.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication in English is a must.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Software Engineering, or equivalent industry work experience.
  • 5+ years of experience in one of the following fields: Software Development, Network Operation, Dev Ops, SWQA, or any other relevant IT experience.
  • CISCO Certification is highly desirable.
  • Proficient with version control systems (preferably Git).
  • Solid understanding of databases and fluent in SQL.
  • Solid understanding of SSH and Tunneling.
  • Solid understanding of Docker.
  • Experience working in Linux/Unix environment.
  • Fluent in English.
