Overview of Role

We are looking for an ICT Officer who is motivated by everything tech. The ICT Officer will be responsible for providing technical support, maintenance and troubleshooting of the Similie’s and its costumers information and communication technology infrastructure. This role requires an individual with strong technical skills in hardware, software, and network administration and management.

 

Responsibilities

 

  • Ensure a high degree of software Quality Assurance through bug tracking.
  • Work with IoT, Product and Dev team members to drive product features from the design phase.
  • Install, configure and maintain hardware and software, including servers, workstations, printers, scanners, Ubiquiti devices and VSAT Equipment within Similie’s office and its projects.
  • Monitor and manage the organization's network and internet connectivity, ensuring that it is secure and functioning at optimum levels.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to hardware, software, and network connectivity.
  • Provide technical support and training to staff on the use of ICT equipment and software.
  • Keep up-to-date with new technologies and make recommendations to the IT Manager on how they can be leveraged to improve the organization's operations.
  • Work with external service providers to maintain and support the organization's ICT infrastructure and customers.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the IT Manager.

 

 

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Software Engineering, or equivalent industry work experience.
  • 3 – 5 years of experience in one of the following fields: Software Development, Network Operation, Dev Ops, SWQA or any other relevant IT experience
  • Experience in technical support for installation, configuration, troubleshooting of VSAT networks and equipment.
  • Good understanding of satellite communication systems and protocols.
  • Knowledge of routing and switching technologies, firewalls, and VPNs.
