About Women and Youth Creating Our Future (WYCF)

The Women and Youth Creating Our Future (WYCF) is a 5-year employment and entrepreneurship program funded by the US Government in Timor-Leste. Its goal is to support Institute of Business (IOB) to launching a center for entrepreneurship and employment called SENTRU to strengthen the workforce readiness, and technical and entrepreneurship skills of Timorese youth (including out-of-schools) and adult women.

 

Position summary:

Youth Hub Coordinator is responsible to support young students in center training of WYCF to develop their capacity building, form a good relationship with the students in order to gain trust and confidence from student.

Duties and responsibilities:

The primary roles of the Youth Coordinator are technical support and advocacy, capacity development and partnerships, evidence and knowledge development and dissemination, and technical representation. The Youth Coordinator will be responsible for the provision of technical and advisory services to support the youth activities in the country office. She/he will provide technical support for relevant capacity building activities, coordinate partnerships and mobilize political support for national policies and programs for youth with a particular focus on the reduction of teen training and study program, comprehensive sexuality education, civic engagement and adolescent health services.

Skills and experience required:

• Advanced university degree in social sciences, international relations, international law, human rights or related field. 
• Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience working with youth programs
• Excellent inter-personal and general communication skills.
• Fluency in oral and written English.
• Working knowledge of Tetum.
