Summary
DAI in association with the Klibur Mata Dalan Foundation, MundiServiços (Mundi Consulting), Sociedade Portuguesa de Inovação (SPI) and Polytechnic University of Leiria, is implementing the Millenium Challenge Account – Timor Leste (MCA) funded TALENT project. The project aims to improve learning outcomes of secondary students throughout Timor Leste, through teacher and school leader education and training.
The Driver and Logistics Officer is a full time positon to support the project’s local transport and logistics activities. The role reports operationally to the Project Coordinator and contractually to DAI’s local partner organisation, the Klibur Foundation. Responsibilities involve daily driving of project vehicles to transport staff around Dili as well as varied logistics operations. Work will be required outside of Dili from time to time, including overnight stays, to support activities in the field.
Responsibilities
- Day-to-day driving of project vehicles to transport project team members to meetings and appointments.
- Assist the project team with a range of day-to-day logistics tasks, such as collecting and dropping off project materials and goods, and helping to prepare facilities and equipment for meetings.
- Assist with aspects of project finance and administration, such as obtaining quotations and purchases, making payments, obtaining delivery receipts, printing, filing, etc.
- Look after vehicle related processes, including logbooks, vehicle inventories, insurance and servicing needs.
- Ensure vehicles are operated in compliance with policy, and that passengers adhere to policy in their use of vehicles.
- Other tasks as reasonably agreed with the Project Coordinator.
Selection Criteria
- Full driving qualifications and at least three years of practical driving experience in Timor Leste.
- Some prior experience with logistics and administrative tasks as required for the role.
- Experience working with projects or NGOs would be an asset.
- Familiarity with communications tools including mobile messaging, emails, etc. Experience using computers would be an asset.
- Fluent Tetum and basic written and verbal English is required.
