About us
The Australia Pacific Training Coalition (APTC) works in coalition with partner training institutions, industry/enterprises, and the Governments of the Pacific and Timor-Leste to achieve sustainable, country-led technical and vocational education and training (TVET) reform under a Thinking and Working Politically approach. APTC provides high quality TVET training while becoming a leading force in skills creation and a highly successful example of sustainable development assistance. We achieve this through working with Pacific and Timor-Leste TVET training providers to develop their capability to deliver qualifications and skill sets to an international standard across a range of demand-driven industry sectors to support both the domestic labour market and international labour mobility opportunities.

The APTC has country offices established in Fiji, Vanuatu, PNG, Samoa, Solomon Islands and Timor-Leste (from July 2021). The Country Offices are supported by a range of services provided from a Regional Head Office (RHO) located in Suva, Fiji.

The APTC is managed by TAFE Queensland on behalf of the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT) and staff are employed by TAFE Queensland.

The Role

The Communications and PMEL (Planning, Monitoring, Learning and Evaluation) Coordinator’s key responsibilities focus on:
  1. Implementing APTC’s Communications Strategy in Timor-Leste to build awareness and promote APTC’s positive image, and
  2. Coordinating, collating and contributing to APTC’s PMEL reports for a range of target audiences, including TAFE Queensland, DFAT and APTC RHO.
How will you be assessed:
  1. Degree level qualification or higher in related fields or post-secondary qualification and demonstrated extensive experience in related field.
  2. Strong written and oral communication skills with demonstrated ability to convey specialised and nuanced information through a range of communication mediums, including professional presentations, promotional materials, social media content, strategic communications and high-level reports.
  3. Demonstrated experience in the collection, analysis, interpretation and presentation of data.
  4. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and ability to work effectively in a cross-cultural environment.
  5. Demonstrated high level skills and knowledge in the application of MS Office programs to an advanced level including Word, Outlook, Excel and PowerPoint.
  6. Excellent organisational and analytical skills, with proven ability to establish priorities and meet tight deadlines, organise high volume workloads and address challenges with creative solutions to achieve objectives within a complex environment.

Contract Duration: Until 30th June 2022

Remuneration
– USD11,928 (inclusive of 6% Employer paid social Security contributions)
